The winners of this year EIT Food Challenge Lab 2025 Bulgaria are already known The winners of this year’s edition of EIT Food Challenge Lab 2025 Bulgaria have been announced! Six teams worked intensively over the period 14–16 November, developing solutions to one of the three selected challenges related to:
They received support from our mentors – Maria Hristova (AgriVentures) and Denimir Dimitrov (Zero Wave) – as well as experts from the University of Economics – Varna, Department of Agrarian Economics: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gergana Slavova, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tanya Georgieva, Dr. Damyan Kirechev, and Dr. Pavlina Ivanova. At the end of the third day, the teams presented their business ideas to an expert jury: Prof. Dr. Teodorina Turlakova – Head of the Department of Agrarian Economics at the University of Economics – Varna, Yuri Zarev – Coordinator of the Varna office of the National Agricultural Advisory Service, and Mr. Dilyan Popov – Smart Varna Foundation.
First place and the grand prize were awarded to Team Eco Pulse (Nikola Pavlov, Kiril Gramatikov, Dimitar Raychev, Stefan Mikailov, Ivaylo Velchev). The team presented a concept for a sustainable anaerobic composting system for kindergartens.
Second place went to Team The Farm – represented by Ivelina Marinova with an idea for a sustainable family farm model.
The special award from Agriventures was presented to Team SoilSense (Ivan Karkov, Pavel Petrov, Teodor Iliev, Tsvetan Zhelev, Yordan Dragiev), who introduced an innovative solution providing easy and effective access to data that helps farmers optimize their work.
The special RAPIV award – participation in Season #2 of the Ecosys4you mentoring programme and the opportunity to work with Bulgarian, Slovenian, and German mentors on business idea development – was given to two teams: Aqua Pure (Pierre Kifi, Dian Angelov) and Mangitata (Denitsa Dimitrova, Monika Atanasova, Merilin Al Sherif, Daria Petrova).
