TestFarms is a program designed to match startups and individuals that are looking to test and validate their innovative agricultural products or services with farmers & primary food processor facilities who are eager to learn about the latest in agritech innovations. Tests provide a reliable answer to the demand of target users and suggest possible improvements. 

EIT Food is looking for individuals & startups with agricultural solution prototypes that can make farmers’ everyday work easier, faster and more sustainable.

Startups can count on a EUR 4,000 grant to conduct the test. In total, the programme helped to test over 65 innovative solutions in the last 4 years.

Eligibility criteria for applicants:

- SME registered no later than 5 years before application date or individuals;

- Have received no more than 60,000 euros in funding from EIT Food in 2022.

- Have developed an innovative solution in agriculture/ animal husbandry/ primary food processing, having minimum a prototype ready to be tested in real environment.

- Work towards furthering one of EIT Food’s six overarching strategic themes to transform our food system: Alternative proteins, Sustainable agriculture, Sustainable aquaculture, Targeted nutrition, Digital traceability, Circular food systems.

- Have not participated in previous editions of the Test Farms.

- Are not or were not EIT Food’s RisingFoodStars.
