IMPACTA: Second Local Support Group Meeting

On 23 April 2026, RAPIV organised the second online meeting of the IMPACTA National Stakeholder Group. The meeting brought together key stakeholders to discuss the findings of the needs analysis of women entrepreneurs in Bulgaria and across the Danube Region and to review the proposed structure of the project’s training materials and methodologies.

At the beginning of the meeting, the methodology used to conduct the analysis was presented, combining desk research and expert interviews. For Bulgaria, the analysis drew on statistical data, reports and studies, as well as six expert interviews with representatives of financial institutions, business consultants, mentors, academia, the investment ecosystem, and non-governmental organisations working in the fields of social innovation and with vulnerable groups of women.

The findings showed that women in Bulgaria are active in the labour market, but their transition to entrepreneurship and leadership positions remains limited. The key needs identified include better access to finance, more practical knowledge and information, support in balancing business and family responsibilities, greater confidence and motivation, and stronger support for social entrepreneurship.

Particular attention was given to the needs of different target groups, including young women, women from rural areas, women entrepreneurs with children, women aged 50+, migrants, women with lower levels of education, and prospective women business angels. The discussion highlighted that effective support should take an integrated approach, combining training, mentoring, access to finance, network development, and guidance towards relevant institutions and support services.

The second part of the meeting focused on the proposed IMPACTA training methodology. A structure comprising three main training sessions was presented:

Session 1: Entrepreneurial Mindset and Idea Generation

The session focuses on developing an entrepreneurial mindset, confidence, resilience, creativity, and the ability to identify opportunities. Approaches such as EntreComp, Growth Mindset, Effectuation, and Design Thinking were presented.

Session 2: Incubation and Acceleration

This part focuses on transforming business ideas into clearer and more sustainable business models through approaches such as Lean Startup, Business Model Canvas, mentoring, prototyping, investment readiness and support to market access.

Session 3: Stakeholders and ecosystem collaboration
The focus is on the role of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, including networks, institutions, markets, mentors, funding organisations, and policies that can support the development of women’s entrepreneurship.

During the discussion, participants had the opportunity to share their views, suggestions, and recommendations on the findings presented and the planned training activities. The meeting confirmed the need for long-term, practical, and coordinated support for women entrepreneurs, particularly those from vulnerable groups.

The IMPACTA project continues to promote women’s entrepreneurship and social innovation and to support the development of more inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystems across the Danube Region.
